34 Google Trusted Social Sites
Social Media April 14th, 2008This is just a theory but I think it’s pretty sound. I was setting up Feedburner for a client earlier this morning and I was in the feed flare section where you can add additional services to your flare. I noticed there was a link to a catalogue of services. Clicking on this link brought me to a large list of sites that one could potentially add to their blog feed. Since Feedburner is now a Google operation, I’m guessing that these sites are trusted in Google’s eyes. Good to know when spreading the word.

Saying that Google trust these sites might be a stretch. Still it is a good list. I think I might be subscribe to all of these services. I only use a couple of them. Some them have been completely forgotten about in my book

Think I have to agree with the comment above; wern’t these part of the service originally anyway?

Don’t know if these were part of the original service or not. There are some sites in here like Simpy and Netvouz that have been spammed since their creation. I would find it hard to believe that Google trusts these sites. I’d say the majority of the sites on this list are pretty solid though.

a lot of the pure bookmarking sites here and around the net have been loosing ground quickly
I am expecting to see some google action to seriously reduce the value of these or make us think they have little value anymore
in addition, most social bookmarking sites dont even get spidered properly for various reasons, making them pretty useless

Thanks for the list. There a few on here that I had not used before. Will have to test out the value of some of these though.

I agree with you Marc. I believe that Google will soon devalue many social bookmarking sites. Places like del.icio.us have taken preemptive measures to keep their value by restricting bots. It’s just a matter of time now before we’ll have to remove bookmarking sites from our campaigns.

Nice list. I’ve actually enjoyed using Mister Wong quite a bit. That is a nice one.

Onlywire.com is crap… It’s a spam site

I agree. They say in their TOS that they have the right to publish ads in your bookmarking accounts or something to that effect.

@Cure Dream: Onlywire does have legitimate purposes, like seotobo does.
