Squareoak’s Search Marketing & Social Media Services

The different types of online services that Squareoak can provide your business with are many but they generally fall under three different categorical strategies: search engine optimization, search engine marketing and social media optimization or campaigning.

SEO – Search Engine Optimization

We’ll perform a site audit, combing through your domain to make sure everything is buttoned up for optimal indexation within the search engines. We’ll check for canonicalization issues, navigational structure, homepage content, meta tags, url formatting, set up analytics if none exists, perform nofollow sculpting, look for duplicate content issues, optimize pdfs, check your indexation, check internal linking structure, and check and record your backlinks. There’s a SEO checklist here that describes the breakdown the site audit process.

SEM – Search Engine Marketing

The campaigns that can be performed under SEM are almost infinite. With all the online services that are out there today there is a slew if things Squareoak can do for your business that will help to build your overall online presence. Some of these efforts include utilizing answering services like Yahoo Answers, bookmarking sites like del.icio.us, social news sites like Digg, sites that allow you to easily create contests, trusted directories, getting involved with niche blogs and forums, image sharing sites like Flickr, video sharing sites like YouTube, local search, viral content, link building, press releases, product review sites, social networking, niche content generation, and many other promotional initiatives.

SMO – Social Media Optimization & Campaigning

Just about all of the services mentioned above have a social aspect to them. Squareoak will pick and choose which of these services best match your online goals. We’ll then begin interacting with them to promote your products and services. Each campaign is entirely tailored to your niche so you’ll benefit from attracting a targeted audience while building a presence within communities that match the demographic you’re trying to reach.

Blog Development

One of the most efficient, holistic, and economical ways to increase traffic and rank is with a blog. The search engines love unique content and if you can provide end users with the quality content they seek, then you are fulfilling the search engine’s intent. Squareoak will install and set up a Wordpress blogging platform, add and optimize the necessary plugins, and sync your feed with Feedburner optimizing your content’s reach.

Viral Content

One of Squareoak’s favorite campaigning efforts is building viral content or link bait. This involves the creation of a unique piece of content, be it textual, photo, or video based. Once the content has been created it is then placed under your domain and submitted and promoted within social sites. The content is intended to be eye catching enough so that people will begin linking to it and blogging about it. All with the end goal of building traffic and links back to your site. Here are a few of Squareoak’s past viral campaigns:

Geeky Weddings  YSE - 873 backlinks generated since release
NES Influenced Weddings  YSE - 894 backlinks generated since release
Bluetooth - 10 New Badass Devices  YSE - 93 backlinks generated since release

Measuring & Metics

Of course you’ll want to see the effectiveness of these campaigns; track rankings and traffic over time. There are many different services out there that can do this for you. Squareoak uses Google Analytics and rank tracking software to do this however we are completely open to setting up other services for you if you need them. The best way to gauge effectiveness is simply via evidence of increased traffic and improved conversions based on that increase. Tracking your keyword rankings is also beneficial but given how often search engines change their algorithms it’s not a metric that we have 100% confidence in. Each month Squareoak will supply you with a traffic and ranking report update.
